A perennial herb ; up to 1 m high , with an ovoid corm covered with brown fibrous tunics . Stems erect to ascending , slender , weak . Leaves alternate , dark green , 4(-5) , lance-shaped , long with entire margins , glabrous . Inflorescences in simple 6-10 flowers in a one-sided spike . Flowers pink to pale purple , long , funnel shaped ; perianth segments with the upper median longer , the lower 3 , elliptic ; stamens 3 , inserted in throat of perianth ; ovary 3-locular ; style exserted ; stigma 3-lobed . Fruit capsule , obovoid , between two bracts . Seeds round , brown , globose , without wings . (Ref . Flora of Oman ; vol . 4) .
