Leaves alternate , erect to spreading , long , slender , pale green , linear to falcate , entire margin , sheathing at base , glabrous . Inflorescences of a terminal umbellate cluster , up to 3-4 flowers on the stem . Flowers bright blue to purple , star-shaped ; stamens 6 , in 2 whorls , free , unequal in length ; filaments purple , free to the base ; anthers slightly sagittate ; style bluish purple , 3-lobed ; stigmas 3 , purple .
