Annual , erect or prostrate , rooting at the nodes and forming dense mats ; up to 40cm . Leaves flat , hairy . Inflorescence terminal , consisting of 2 to 6 spikes of equal length . Spikelet/Floret densely packed in two rows along one side of the spike ; each spikelet with 3 to 6 florets .
