Spikelets all alike , 2-flowered without rhachilla extension , dorsally compressed , awnless , disarticulating below the florets and sometimes , tardily , between them ; glumes tardily deciduous , membranous , shorter than or as long as the spikelet . Glumes subequal , almost as long to as long as the spikelet , 5- to 9-veined .
