Inflorescences spikes 10-30 cm long , erect or sometimes nodding . Spikelets 5-15-flowered , elliptic-oblong to obovate-oblong in lateral view , glabrous . Glumes superior glume much shorter than the spikelet . Fruits caryopsis .
