Ruellia forsskaolii Thulin

This species is native to Arabian Peninsula. (Ref. POWO; 2023). There are 6 species of Ruellia found in Oman. (Ref. Oman Botanic Garden).

Woody subshrub ; up to 1 m tall . Stems with stellate-hairy young branchlets . Leaves 2-4 cm long , ovate , dark green above , grey below , stellate-hairy on both surfaces . Inflorescences solitary , in the axils of the upper leaves . Flowers white ; calyx ± 15 mm long , the lobes ovate-triangular , 5 mm wide ; corolla white with a cylindrical tube , 5-10 cm long . Fruit capsule , ± 2 cm long , pubescent . (Ref . Yemen Flora ; 1997) .
