Annual herb ; up to 15-20 cm high , papillose throughout . Stems erect or ascending , dichotomously branched . Leaves opposite to subopposite , 20–30 x 5–8 mm , grey-green , oblong to linear-lanceolate , apex obtuse , sessile or base attenuating into a subsessile petiole . Inflorescences axillary , solitary , sessile . Flowers white , up to 1 . 5 cm across ; sepals 8–10 mm , 5-lobed , lobes triangular , tip acute , green ; stamens numerous , in bundles . Fruit capsule , 5–6 mm in diameter , 5-angled , flattened at the apex , valves strongly recurving on dehiscence . (Ref . Flora of Oman ; vol . 1) .
