Leaves opposite , unequal in the pair , 15–25 x 6–20 mm , fleshy , suborbicular to obovate , base clasping and united with that of the opposite leaf ; stipules present ; petioles 2–20 mm . Inflorescences solitary , axillary , sessile . Flowers pink to white ; calyx-lobes2–3mm , pink to white , apiculate ; stamens 10–15 , inserted on the calyx-tube ; ovary truncate , 2-lobed ; style 1 . Fruit capsule , with a flattened lid , rim raised , 3-5-seeded . Seeds 3–12 , compressed , rounded , transversely wrinkled . (Ref . Flora of Oman ; vol . 1) .
