Inflorescences in axillary panicles or racemes ; bract 1 ; bracteoles 2 . Flowers reddish , very small , unisexual ; petals absent ; perianth segments 1-2 ; stamens ; 3-5(-7) around the disc ; pistil absent or rudimentary ; ovary sessile , 1-celled , 1-ovule ; style short ; stigmas capitate .
