Pistacia vera L.

This species is native to Central Asia, extending to Afghanistan; introduced and cultivated elsewhere. (Ref. POWO; 2023). There are 3 species of Pistacia found in Oman. (Ref. Oman Botanic Garden).

Dioecious . Deciduous tree ; up to 10 m tall . Stems with wide spreading branches . Leaves pinnate , grey-green ; leaflet 1-5 pairs , 10-20 cm long , oval , thick , leathery . Inflorescences borne in panicles . Flowers apetalous , unisexual , brownish-green ; petals absent . Fruit drupe , 1 . 5-2 cm long , with a hard , cream-colored exterior shell , turns yellow/red when ripe , ehiscence . (Ref . https://en . wikipedia . org) .
