Robust annual herb ; up to 10-40(-50) cm high , with a woody root-stock , aromatic . Stems several , arising from the base , grooved , hollow or with a very soft pith , grey-green , glabrous . Leaves alternate , 3-foliolate ; leaflets 20-40 mm long , deeply segmented to lobed with lanceolate to linear segments , entire margin , glabrous ; petiole 10-15 mm , sheathing at the base . Inflorescences in axillary and terminal umbles ; peduncles up to 8 cm , glabrous ; rays 6-15 ; bracts linear to ovate . Flowers white ; calyx minute ; petals ± 1 mm .
