Erect copiously branched annual or biennial herb ; up to 30–100 cm tall , aromatic . Stem cylindrical , grooved , hollow . Leaves alternate , 1–3-pinnate , dark green , glossy , flat , or curled , and with sheath at the base . Inflorescence in terminal or axillary compound umbel . Flowers small , white or pinkish to yellowish-green , bisexual ; sepals obscure ; petals 5 , suborbicular to obovate . Fruit schizocarp , 2–3 mm long , ovoid , splits into two mericarps when ripen with each having five narrow ribs . (Ref . POWO , 2023) .
