Adenium dhofarense Rzepecky

This species is native to S Arabian Peninsula (S Oman & Yemen). (Ref. POWO; 2023). There are 2 species of Adenium found in Oman. (Ref. Oman Botanic Garden).

Small tree or shrub ; up to 0 . 5-2 m tall , with a very thick , usually irregularly globose trunk , anchored by a few thick main roots , and topped by a crown of irregularly disposed flexuous branches . Bark thin , smooth usually pale grey , at the slightest bruise oozing a clear sap that soon turns white . Leaves deciduous , alternate , obovate-elliptic , large 70–140 x 50–100 mm , fresh green above , appearing quilted , with prominent whitish midrib flowing into (anastomosing) cladodromous venation , with revolute margins ; paler underside , sometimes hispidous , crowded at the branches apices in rarely more than 2 to 3 pairs ; stipules minute , blackish brown 0 . 5–1 . 5 mm caducous stipules , lax white felting at the tip of the branches . Inflorescences highly variable , in laxly flowered cymes at the extremity of the branches , sessile or with short pedicels , up to 8 mm long .
