Succulent perennial herb ; up to 40 cm tall . Stems erect to ascending , succulent , grey-green , obscurely 4-sided with rounded angles . Leaves 6–13 mm , linear , soon falling . Inflorescences solitary or 2 together , axillary on the flowering stalk 6–8 cm long , deciduous ; pedicels ± 13 mm . Flowers bell-shaped , greenish-brown to purplish-brown ; corolla campanulate , lobes , linear-lanceolate , 6–7 mm long ; outer corona lobes bifid ; inner corona-lobes incumbent over the anthers .
