Leaves opposite , petiolate , broadly ovate in outline , to 20 × 12 cm , pinnately lobed with 3–5 leaflets to bipinnatisect with up to 9 leaflets ; leaflets ovate to lanceolate , serrate , acute . Inflorescences in laxly paniculiform terminal synflorescences . Flowers yellow ; ray flowers (sometimes absent) 2–5 , white , sterile , ray lamina 3–6 mm long , with orange striations ; disk flowers perfect , tubular . Fruit achenes , 6–20 mm long , slender , 4-angular , black . Seeds pappus , aristae 2–4(–5) , 1–4 mm long , backwardly barbed , up to ± 4 mm long awns . (Ref . Flora of Oman ; vol . 3) .
