Blumea axillaris (Lam.) DC.

This species is native to Tropical & Subtropical Old World. (Ref. POWO; 2023). There are 3 species of Blumea found in Oman. (Ref. Oman Botanic Garden).

Annual or occasionally perennial herb ; up to 70 cm high , glandular and softly pilose of white , spreading hairs , whole plant viscid , sticky and aromatic . Stems erect , simple , short-pubescent with glandular hairs . Leaves obovate to spathulate , up to 10 × 6 cm , sessile , occasionally purplish , entire , margin dentate , attenuate into a narrow base . Inflorescences in dense to lax terminal and axillary , narrow paniculiform synflorescences . Flowers bisexual , purple to lilac , outer ones filiform , pistillate , inner few , tubular , perfect . Fruit achenes , cylindric , 0 . 5–1 mm long , slightly ribbed , pubescent . Seeds pappus , ± 3-4 mm long , of ± 12 white , caducous bristles . (Ref . Flora of Oman ; vol . 3) .
