Blumea bovei (DC.) Vatke

This species is native to Sahara, eastwards to Sinai, Palestine and Jordan, and Arabian Peninsula, S Iran, Pakistan, and India (Gujarat). (Ref. POWO; 2023). There are 3 species of Blumea found in Oman. (Ref. Oman Botanic Garden).

Perennial , basally woody herb ; up to 40 cm high , sparsely pubescent to almost glabrous . Stems branched from the base , terete , glabrous or sparsely pilose . Leaves alternate , sessile , linear-lanceolate , up to ± 8 x 1 cm , dentate , shallowly sinuate-dentate to almost entire , base weakly auriculate , sparsely pubescent to almost glabrous . Inflorescences solitary or in lax axillary or terminal corymbiform synflorescences . Flowers purple to lilac , marginal flowers female , filiform , in several rows , inner flowers perfect , tubular . Fruit achenes , almost 1 mm long , columnar-cylindric , brown , with conspicuous , red , longitudinal resin ducts , pubescent . Seeds pappus , ± 3-4 mm long , of a few barbellate setae . (Ref .
