Annual (to pauciennial ? ) herb ; upt to 80 cm tall , with a strong odor , glandular and densely covered with silky , whitish hairs . Stems erect , simple to branched . Leaves obovate to spathulate , to 7 × 3 cm (probably also larger) , entire to shallowly pinnately lobed and margin strongly dentate with pungent teeth , attenuate into a narrow base . Inflorescences in dense to lax , terminal and axillary , narrow paniculiform synflorescences . Flowers yellow , outer ones filiform , pistillate , inner few , tubular , perfect . Fruit achenes , cylindric , 0 . 5–1 mm long . Seeds pappus , ± 3 mm long , of ± 6-8 , easily detachable white bristles . (Ref . Flora of Oman ; vol . 3) .
