الاستخدامات

Cultivated for making well-known orange-red dye 'dehan' smeared on the forehead by women. Also, used as a treatment for headache by adding rose water. (Ref. Oman Botanic Garden). In Omani studies: Ghazanfar (2015) wrote that: "Safflower is widely cultivated in many parts of Arabia for the red-coloured dye obtained from the flowers used as a cosmetic, for dyeing cloth and wool, and as food colour; also the entire plant has been used in traditional medicine for treating red and swollen eyes". (Ref. Flora of Oman; vol.3).
