Centaurea pseudosinaica subsp. neibuhrii Wagenitz

This subspecies is native to S Arabian Peninsula. (Ref. POWO; 2023). There are 5 species of Centaurea found in Oman. (Ref. Oman Botanic Garden).

Perennial herb ; up to ± 50 cm high , with short , stiff hairs . Stems branched from the base . Leaves lanceolate or linear-lanceolate , pinnately divided with narrow segments , undulate , of the main axis petiolate , of the branches sessile or scarcely decurrent . Inflorscences solitary at the end of the branches . Flowers with bright yellow corolla , much exceeding the involucre . Fruit achenes , 3–4 mm long , brown , shiny . Seeds pappus , ± 3 mm , reddish-brownish , innermost row of bristles as long as the outer . (Ref . Flora of Oman ; vol . 3) .
