Crepis kotschyana (Boiss.) Boiss.

This species is native to E Mediterranean, eastwards to Central Asia and Pakistan, Arabian Peninsula. (Ref. Flora of Oman; vol.3). There is only one species of Crepis occurs in Oman. (Ref. Oman Botanic Garden).

Annual herb ; up to 5–20 cm high , with white latex , canescent-tomentose and pubescent of pale yellow , partly glandular hairs . Stems divaricately branched from the base , branches leafy , spreading-erect . Leaves spathulate to lanceolate , entire to sinuate-dentate , rarely pinnately lobed . Inflorescences solitary at the end of branches . Flowers bright yellow . Fruit achenes , yellowish- to reddish-brown ; inner ones 7–11 mm long , with a slender beak longer than the body ; marginal achenes enclosed by inner phyllaries , shorter and without or with shorter beak . Seeds pappus , of numerous white bristles , 4-6 mm long , usually shorter in the marginal achenes . (Ref . Flora of Oman ; vol . 3) .
