Leaves alternate , simple , 6 x 2 . 5 cm , variable in shape , obovate to spatulate or lanceolate , attenuate into a petiol-like base , margins serrate , bright green , somewhat pubescent . Inflorescences borne on erect , terminal sprays . Flowers purple , all perfect , tubular . Fruit achenes , with tufts of white hair . (Ref . Flora of Oman ; vol . 3) .

In Northern Oman, the leaves crushed and squeezed over the infected eyes. (Ref. Oman Botanic Garden).
