Woody based annual or perennial herb ; up to 70 cm high , somewhat caespitose . Stems erect , little or strongly branched . Leaves alternate , up to 4-5 x 1-1 . 5 cm , elliptic-lanceolate , narrowed into a petiole-like base , distally denticulate and with a mucronulate tip , grey-green , with rough edges . Inflorescences solitary at the end of stems . Flowers with yellowish to pinkish corola with reflexed lobes , perfect , tubular . Fruit achene , turbinate , up to 2 . 5 mm long , with white hairs to 2 mm . Seeds pappus , uniseriate , of ± 8-10 rigid , flattened , barbellate bristles to 7 mm long . (Ref .
