Echinops atrox Kit Tan

This species is native to Arabian Peninsula (Oman). (Ref. POWO; 2023). There are 3 species of Echinops found in Oman. (Ref. Oman Botanic Garden).

علم تشكل النبات


Perennial herb ; up to 40 cm high . Stems erect-ascending , branched , rigid , leafy , white-tomentose , glandular-hairy . Leaves to ± 18 cm (and more ? ) long , pinnatisect , coriaceous and with spines at most ± 15 mm long , upper surface greyish-green , sparsely glandular-hairy and with white-arachnoid veins , lower surface white-tomentose . Inflorescences single-flowered , many of them aggregated to globose , flower heads of at most ± 2 cm in diameter . Flowers all tubular and perfect , with white corolla and yellow anther tube . (Ref .
