A small spreading annual herb ; up to ± 30 cm long , with cylindrical , grayish roots . Stems ± erect or decumbent , much branched , sometimes mat-forming , fleshy or sappy , purplish-brown , adpressed-pubescent . Leaves opposite , 25-60 x 9-15 mm , lanceolate to ovate-lanceolate , base cuneate , apex acute , margins shallowly serrate , adpressed-pubescent to scabrous , midrib prominent on the lower surface ; petiole up to 6 mm . Inflorescences solitary or paired flower heads arise from the leaf nodes . Flowers ray flowers white , pistillate ; disc flowers white , perfect , tubular . Fruit achene , 2-3 mm long , compressed , black or brown , triangular , winged . Seeds pappus , a minute hairy corona , semmingly being absent . (Ref . Flora of Oman ; vol . 3) .
