Filago pyramidata L.

This species is native to Macaronesia, Europe, extending to Tibet and Arabian Peninsula. (Ref. POWO; 2023). There are 4 species of Filago found in Oman. (Ref. Oman Botanic Garden).

Small erect or , more rarely , procumbent annual herb , greyish tomentose . Stems usually branched , the lowermost cluster of capitula terminating the stem somewhat higher up and overtopped by the branches the stem , each terminated again by a cluster of capitula and usually branched like the main axis . Leaves alternate , simple , narrowly spathulate , entire , up to at most 30 × 10 mm , most of them crowded below the clusters and usually exceeding them . Inflorescences in glomerate clusters . Flowers yellow ; marginal flowers filiform , pistillate ; disk flowers tubular and perfect . Fruit achenes , 0 . 8 mm long , narrowly obovoid , compressed , somewhat papillose . Seeds pappus , of white caducous bristles 2–2 . 5 mm long . (Ref . Flora of Oman ; vol . 3) .
