Iphiona horrida Boiss.

This species is native to the Arabian Peninsula (Oman). (Ref. POWO; 2023). There are 5 species of Iphiona found in Oman. (Ref. Oman Botanic Garden).

Pleasantly aromatic shrublet ; up to ± 30 cm high . Stems much branched ; branches and lower leaves usually with ± 1 mm long , flat , white , stiff bristly hairs . Leaves up to 5 × 0 . 2 cm , subulate , terete to almost triquetrous , stiff , pungent , persistent , basally with pungent subulate lobes . Inflorescences solitary or in a loose corymbiform synflorescence at the end of branches . Flowers yellow , all tubular and perfect . Fruit achenes , ellipsoidal to obconical , ribbed and hairy , 2–3 mm long . Seeds pappus , ± 5 mm long , of numerous brownish bristles in several series , the inner successively longer than the outer . (Ref . Flora of Oman ; vol . 3) .
