Iphiona senecionoides (Baker) Anderb.

This species is native to S Arabian Peninsula. (Ref. POWO; 2023). There are 5 species of Iphiona found in Oman. (Ref. Oman Botanic Garden).

Subshrub ; up to ± 1 m high . Stems moderately branched , glandular-hairy . Leaves up to 5 × 2 . 5 cm , narrowly elliptic to spathulate in outline , coarsely dentate to pinnatifid or bipinnatifid with acute to obtuse segments , fleshy . Inflorescences solitary or in a loosely corymbiform synflorescence at the end of the branches . Flowers bright yellow ; ray flowers sterile , ray lamina 4–5 mm long ; disc flowers tubular , perfect . Fruit achenes , ± 2 mm long , ellipsoidal , ribbed , basally and apically hairy . Seeds pappus , whitish , with an inner row of 15–30 similar , barbellate bristles 6–7 mm long and an outer row of narrow scales up ± 1 . 5 mm long . (Ref . Flora of Oman ; vol . 3) .
