Jurinea carduiformis (Jaub. & Spach) Boiss.

This species is native to NE Iraq, extending to Central Asia and Pakistan, and Arabian Peninsula. (Ref. POWO; 2023). There are 2 species of Jurinea found in Oman. (Ref. Oman Botanic Garden).

Annual to perennial , cushion-forming herb , arachnoid-tomentose . Stems several very short , branched , leafy . Leaves with revolute margins and often undulate ; rosulate basal leaves pinnatisect with remote , linear segments ; stem leaves narrowly decurrent , linear-elliptic , mostly entire . Inflorescences solitary at the end of branches . Flowers pink , tubular , perfect . Fruit achenes , 5–6 mm long , obconical , 4-angular , verrucose . Seeds pappus , up to ± 30 mm long , dirty white , of many barbellate bristles . (Ref . Flora of Oman ; vol . 3) .
