Launaea omanensis N. Kilian

This species is native to E Arabian Peninsula. (Ref. POWO; 2023). There are 12 species of Launaea found in Oman. (Ref. Oman Botanic Garden).

Perennial herb ; up to 20–>50 cm high , with white latex . Stems single , erect , at least basally leafy , or a few such stems . Leaves basal , up to 13 × 2 cm , variable , narrowly spathulate to elliptic , sinuate-dentate to pinnatifid with narrow acute segments . Inflorescences solitary at the end of the branches , peduncles (1–)2–8 cm long . Flowers yellow . Fruit achenes , 4–7 mm long , including a slender beak of 1–2 mm , inner ones glabrous , marginal covered with minute dustgrain-like and 0 . 1 mm long , spreading , linear papillae . Seeds pappus , 9-12 mm long , of downy hairs and bristles . (Ref . Flora of Oman ; vol . 3) .
