Pluchea ovalis (Pers.) DC.

This species is native to dry parts of Africa, Comoros, Madagascar, Arabian Peninsula, extending to NW India. (Ref. POWO; 2023). There are 3 species of Pluchea found in Oman. (Ref. Oman Botanic Garden).

Shrub ; up to 2 m tall , forming rounded clumps , aromatic . Stems erect , much branched , pale grey-green , pilose , tomentose or greyish woolly and densely covered with sessile or stipitate glands . Leaves up to 7(–11) , grey-green , sessile , ovate , lanceolate or spathulate , acute or obtuse , auriculate and decurrent , pilose , tomentose or woolly . Inflorescences sessile or with peduncles up to 1 cm long , in a dense corymbiform synflorescence at the end of the branches . Flowers pink to purple ; marginal flowers pistillate , filiform , 3(–4)-lobed ; disk flowers perfect , tubular , 5-lobed . Fruit achenes , ± 1 mm long , ± cylindric , hairy , those of the disk flowers often vestigial . Seeds pappus , 4–6 mm long , of 10–20 barbellate bristles , caducous , those of the disk flowers often broadened at base . (Ref . Flora of Oman ; vol . 3) .
