Dwarf shrub . Stems older branches with a soft , greyish , frequently cracked bark tissue of large cells , leafless but with 1-2 mm long basal remnants of the former leaves ; younger branches leafy throughout . Leaves up to c . 25 mm long , 0 . 2-0 . 7 mm wide , weakly fleshy , entire , oblanceolate , attenuate into a narrow , semiamplexicaule base , apically rounded or with a small mucro pointing backwards . Inflorescences heterogamous . Flowers bright yellow ; ray flowers pistillate , ray lamina 5-6 × 2-2 . 5 mm ; disc flowers perfect , tubular , 5 . 8-6 . 4 mm long . Fruit achenes , including the outer , weakly delimited coroniform pappus 2 . 5-3 . 5 mm long and c . 1 . 2 mm in diameter , adaxially ± incurved and with a strong transverse constriction .
