Reichardia tingitana (L.) Roth

This species is native to Macaronesia, extending to India and Tanzania. (Ref. POWO; 2023). There is only one species of Reichardia occurs in Oman. (Ref. Oman Botanic Garden).

Short-lived , erect annual herb ; up to 20 cm high , with white latex , almost acaulescent , glabrous . Stems short , ± leafy , erect , scarcely branched . Leaves to 12 × 3 cm , spathulate , sinuate-dentate to pinnatifid and dentate , basally auriculate , apically attenuate to acute , blue/green . Inflorescences terminal , solitary or paired , on swollen stalks to 26 cm long . Flowers hermaphroditic ; corolla bright yellow with reddish centres , tube cylindric , 3 . 5–8 . 5 mm long , ligules 5–11 mm long . Fruit achenes , 1 . 5–4 mm long , whitish , coarsely tuberculate , with tufts of hair . Seeds pappus 6–9 mm long , white , of thin bristles , caducous . (Ref . Flora of Oman ; vol . 3) .
