Thymophylla tenuiloba (DC.) Small

This species is native to SE U.S.A., extending to NE Mexico; introduced and naturalised world wide. (Ref. POWO; 2023). There is only one species of Thymophylla occurs in Oman. (Ref. Oman Botanic Garden).

Annual herb ; up to 20 cm high , sparsely short-hair . Stems basally branched , spreading-erect , leafy , puberulous . Leaves rarely opposite to alternate , to 2 × 1 . 5 cm , pinnatisect into linear to filiform , mucronulate , sparsely gland-dotted lobes , aromatic . Inflorescences solitary at the end of branches on 3–6 cm long wiry peduncles . Flowers golden yellow ; ray flowers pistillate , ray lamina 4–7 mm long ; disk flowers numerous , tubular , perfect . Fruit achenes , 2 . 5–3 . 5 mm long , slenderl obpyramidal , faintly ribbed , blackish . Seeds pappus , 3–3 . 5 mm long , of 10–12 scales , each with a central and 2–4 lateral awns . (Ref .
