Leaves opposite to partly alternate or sometimes whorled , 20–80 × 6–19 mm , oblanceolate to broadly lanceolate , base tapering , apex acute , margins entire , white hispid with bulbous-based hairs . Inflorescences solitary or paired , axillary ; pedicels 2–4 mm . Flowers blue , small , 2-4 mm long , radially symmetric , somewhat bell-shaped ; calyx ± 2 mm , nodding in fruit ; lobes 5 , divided almost to base , linear-lanceolate , nervose , accrescent , increasing in size and becoming folded , and enveloping the fruit ; corolla blue , 2–4 mm , 5-lobed ; tube cylindrical ; lobes as long as tube , broadly rounded ; anthers are c . 0 . 5 mm long , ovate ; style 0 . 5 mm ; stigma subcapitate .
