Shrub or small tree ; up to 4 m tall , with grey bark . Stems and young shoots with brownish hispid hairs , older glabrous . Leaves alternate , 3–7 × 1–4 cm , elliptic to obovate to obovate-oblong , base obliquely cuneate , apex rounded , margins crenate to dentate in the upper half , scabrid with bulbous-based hairs , sparsely white-pubescent beneath , venation reticulate , but lateral veins not reaching margin , conspicuous ; petiole 3–15 mm . Inflorescences in few-flowered , terminal or axillary ; pedicels ± 1 mm . Flowers greenish-white to pale yellow ; calyx ± 5 mm , cylindrical to funnel-shaped , densely tomentose , 3–4-lobed ; fruiting calyx shallow , forming a cup up to 9 mm wide ; corolla greenish-white to pale yellow , tube 5–6 mm , 4-lobed , lobes oblong , spreading . Female flowers with 4 staminodes . Fruit drupe , ± 11 mm , orange when ripe , fleshy , obovoid . (Ref . Flora of Oman ; vol . 3) .
