Echiochilon jugatum I.M. Johnst.

This species is native to E & SE Arabian Peninsula (Oman, UAE, Qatar & Bahrain). (Ref. POWO; 2023). There are 7 species of Echiochilon found in Oman. (Ref. Oman Botanic Garden).

Shrublet ; up to 50 cm tall , with a woody base . Stems prostrate to ascending , much branched , densely adpressed disc-based hairy . Leaves opposite , 3 . 2–6 × 1 . 3–2 . 5 mm , fleshy , connate , triangular to oblong , base clasping , apex acute to subacute , usually recurving , densely adpressed hairy . Inflorescences solitary , axillary , ± throughout the length of the stem ; pedicel 0 . 5–1 mm . Flowers white , cream or pale yellow , funnel-shaped ; calyx 3–3 . 5 mm , increasing in fruit , 5-lobed , lobes ovate , ± free , densely adpressed disc-based hairy ; corolla white , cream or pale yellow , funnel-shaped , 3 . 9–5 . 5 mm ; tube 3–3 . 5 mm , lobes oblong , rounded , flat or spreading ; stamens attached at throat ; anthers exserted . Fruit nutlets , 2–3 mm , ovoid , whitish , smooth , usually 1–3 developing . (Ref . Flora of Oman ; vol . 3) .

In the central desert area, and during eid occasion women used the plant to clean and clear their body. Pounded paste of whole plant used to ease the pain of insect sting. (Ref. Oman Botanic Garden).
