Echiochilon longiflorum Benth.

This species is native to E Ethiopia & Somalia, extending to S Arabian Peninsula. (Ref. POWO; 2023). There are 7 species of Echiochilon found in Oman. (Ref. Oman Botanic Garden).

Stems erect , branched , young branches finely ribbed , glabrous to hispid with disc-based or bulbous-based adpressed or spreading hairs and glandular hairs . Leaves alternate , few lower ones opposite , 3–40 × 1–9 mm , lanceolate , base cuneate to attenuate , apex acute to obtuse , glabrous to hispid disc- or bulbous- based hairs . Inflorescences in elongate , erect , ± unilateral many-flowered cymes ; pedicel 0 . 5–4 mm .
