Echiochilon persicum (Burm.f.) I.M Johnst.

This species is native to NE Sudan, extending to NE Socotra, Arabian Peninsula, S Iran & S Pakistan. (Ref. POWO; 2023). There are 7 species of Echiochilon found in Oman. (Ref. Oman Botanic Garden).

Leaves alternate , few lower ones opposite , 2–17 × 0 . 5–2 mm , oblong , narrow oblanceolate to oblanceolate , base cuneate to attenuate , apex acute to obtuse , patent , covered with disc-based hairs , ± glandular . Inflorescences solitary , arising in the leaf nodes with no stalk ; pedicels 0 . 5–1 mm . Flowers yellowish , rarely bluish , funnel-shaped , regular or somewhat zygomorphic ; calyx about half as long or equalling the corolla tube , 5-lobed , lobes ± unequal , ± free , 1 . 7–4 . 2 mm , one of the abaxial the largest , lanceolate to oblanceolate , adpressed disc-based hairy ; corolla yellowish , rarely bluish , 2 . 7–7 mm , funnel-shaped , regular or somewhat zygomorphic ; tube 2–5 mm , ± hairy and ± glandular , limb flat or cup-shaped with erect or spreading lobes ; stamens attached at throat at ± different heights ; anthers included or exserted .
