Heliotropium digynum (Forssk.) Asch. ex C.Chr.

This species is native to N Africa, eastwards to Iraq and Arabian Peninsula. (Ref. POWO; 2023). There are 10 species of Heliotropium found in Oman. (Ref. Oman Botanic Garden).

Woody base shrub ; up to 60 cm tall . Stems densely branched , round , whitish ; older ones spreading outwards . Leaves alternate , dark green with wavy edges , the midrib and veins raised on the underside , with rounded or pointed tips . Inflorescences terminal in small groups , on tightly curved spike ; bracts green . Flowers yellowish white ; petals sharply pointed . Fruits nutlets , 4 , ovoid , brown , hairy .
