Leaves 25–60 × 18–30 mm , ovate to ovate-elliptic , base cuneate and tapering into the petiole , sometimes oblique , apex acute , margins entire , densely adpressed tomentose with bulbous-based hairs , dense on the nerves ; nerves depressed ; petiole 15–45 mm . Inflorescences of terminal and lateral scorpiod cymes , flowers dense , in fruiting time biseriate , up to 10 cm , often forked ; flowers compact above becoming lax below ; bracts absent . Flowers small (up to 5 mm long) , white with a yellow throat , trumpet-shaped ; calyx 5-lobed , persistent ; lobes free to base , 3–4 mm , oblong-lanceolate , acute , densely hairy ; corolla white , tubular , 5-lobed ; tube about half times longer than the calyx , hairy on the outside ; lobes small , ± 1 mm , oblong , rounded at apex , overlapping ; stamens attached just above the base of corolla tube ; stigma conical to linear (conical in most
