Microparacaryum intermedium (Fresen.) Hilger & Podlech

This species is native to E Mediterranean; extending to Central Asia; and W Himalaya, Arabian Peninsula qnd Eritrea. (Ref. POWO; 2023). There is one species of Microparacaryum occurs in Oman. (Ref. Oman Botanic Garden).

Annual herb ; up to15(–20) cm high . Stems ± erect , ± branched , pubescent with hairs arising from a tuberculate base . Leaves 20–45 × 3–5 mm , decreasing in size upwards , base cuneate , tapering into the petiole , apex obtuse , margins entire , adpressed pubescent with tubercule-based hairs . Inflorescences in lax racemes , bracteate ; pedicels ± 2 mm , lengthening to 10 mm in fruit . Flowers deep blue with a white centre ; calyx 5-lobed to base , lobes ± 1 . 5 mm , lengthening to ± 3 mm in fruit , lanceolate- ovate , acute ; corolla deep blue with a white centre , 2–3 mm , ± campanulate , with appendages in throat . Fruit nutlets , 3–4 mm in diameter , ± globose , margin broadly winged with a small aperture , membranous , inner margin denticulate or smooth , pubescent , central area smooth or with glochidiate appendages .
