Moltkiopsis ciliata (Forssk.) I.M.Johnst.

This species is native to Sahara, extending eastwards to Iran. (Ref. POWO; 2023). There is one species of Moltkiopsis occurs in Oman. (Ref. Oman Botanic Garden).

Annual herb ; up to 22 cm high . Stems ascending to decumbent to ± erect , few to many arising from the base , greyishgreen , adpressed white pubescent with short and long tubercle based hairs . Leaves alternate , 10–20 × 3–5 mm , oblong-lanceolate to ovatelanceolate , base cuneate , apex obtuse to acute , margins entire , densely covered with adpressed to spreading hairs . Inflorescences in one-sided racemes , bracteate ; bracts longer than calyx . Flowers pink to reddish pink , tubular ; calyx ± 5 mm , 5-lobed to base ; lobes linear ; corolla pink to reddish pink , ± 10 mm , tubular , densely villous outside , glabrous inside ; lobes oblong , obtuse . Fruit nutlets , 2 , developing , smooth and glossy . (Ref . Flora of Oman ; vol . 3) .
