Nogalia drepanophylla (Baker) Verdc. subsp. drepanophylla

This subspecies is native to S Arabian Peninsula (S Oman & Yemen). (Ref. POWO; 2023). There is one species of Nogalia occurs in Oman. (Ref. Oman Botanic Garden).

Perennial herb ; up to 45 cm tall , forming clumps . Stems ascending to decumbent to ± erect , sparsely to densely pubescent to pilose . Leaves alternate , 6–20 × 2–5 mm , fleshy , often in clusters on axillary short shoots , oblanceolate , sessile or base narrowing into a short petiole to 1 mm , apex obtuse , margins entire , pubescent on both surfaces . Inflorescences sessile in simple or forked unilateral cymes , ebracteate . Flowers white or yellow , tubular ; calyx 4–5 mm , 5-lobed almost to base ; lobes equal , ± 4 mm , oblong , obtuse , pubescent ; corolla white or yellow , tubular , 5-lobed ; tube ± 5 mm , pubescent outside , glabrous within ; lobes 1–2 mm , oblong , obtuse , spreading ; stamens 5 ; filaments short , attached in the upper half of corolla tube , included ; style glabrous ; stigmatic head ± 1 mm , conical , shortly pubescent ; basal ring present . Fruit 3–5 mm across , globose , with a single 4-seeded stone , mesocarp thin , fleshy , densely hairy . (Ref . Flora of Oman ; vol . 3) .
