Trichodesma cinereum Mosti & Selvi

This species is native to S Oman. (Ref. POWO; 2023). There are 5 species of Trichodesma found in Oman. (Ref. Oman Botanic Garden).

Woody base perennial herb ; up to 40 cm high , forming dense clumps . Stems simple or branched , grey/green , covered with dense white-woolly hairs interspersed with few bristly white tuberculate-based long ± adpressed hairs ; bark peeling and flaking at the lower parts of stems . Leaves opposite , 25–40 × 6–18 mm , elliptic to ovate-elliptic , base cuneate and tapering into the petiole , apex acute , margins entire , densely white-woolly interspersed with few bristly white tubercle-based long ± adpressed hairs ; petiole up to 25 mm ; upper leaves sessile . Inflorescences in lax cymes , ± nodding in fruit ; pedicels slender , variable in length , developing to 15 mm ; bracts 5 – 6 mm , linear-lanceolate , white villous . Flowers pale violet to mauve , yellowish in centre , face downwards ; calyx 10–12 mm , enlarging to ± 15 mm in fruit , 5-lobed to base , lobes ovate-lanceolate , acute , densely white villous ; corolla pale violet to mauve , yellowish in centre , tubular ; tube yellowish , 5–6 mm , shorter ...
