Diplotaxis acris (Forssk.) Boiss.

This species is native to E Sahara, extending to S Türkiye and N Central Arabian Peninsula. (Ref. POWO; 2023). There are 3 species of Diplotaxis found in Oman. (Ref. Oman Botanic Garden).

Annual herb ; up to 6(-60) cm high , subglabrous or with a few spreading hairs below . Stems erect or ascending , branched mainly from the base with few long spreading hairs . Leaves mainly in a basal rosette , 3–10×1–4 cm , ovate-oblong to pinnatisect , apex obtuse , base tapering into a short petiole , margin serrate to irregularly serrate to entire ; upper leaves similar to the lower leaves , but smaller and narrower . Inflorescences 4-merous , in terminal racemes . Flowers white to pinkish-purplish , mildly fragrant ; sepals spreading ; petals ± 15 mm , lilac to light purple . Fruit siliqua , 20–50×2-3 mm , linear , beaked , erect . (Ref . Flora of Oman ; vol . 1) .
