Erucastrum arabicum Fisch. & C.A.Mey.

This species is native to Egypt, extending to Namibia and Arabian Peninsula. (Ref. POWO; 2023). There is one species of Erucastrum occurs in Oman. (Ref. Oman Botanic Garden).

Erect annual herb ; up to 50 cm tall . Stems glabrescent above , retrorse-hispid below , simple hairs . Leaves with lower leaves up to 15×3 cm , lyrate-pinnatisect , lobes irregularly serrate-sinuate , base tapering into the petiole ; upper leaves similar but smaller in size , sessile . Inflorescences 4-merous , in densely-flowered terminal racemes ; fruiting pedicels slender , ascending , (3-)5-15(-20) mm . Flowers bright yellow ; sepals ± 2 mm ; petals 3–5 mm , yellow , spathulate , clawed ; stamens 6 ; ovary glabrous or with short hairs ; stigma semiglobose . Fruit siliqua , 20–40×1–2 mm , 4-angled in cross section , erect , ascending , beaked ; valves glabrous or sparesly hairy ; beak 1 . 5-5 mm , narrower than the siliqua , seedless . Seeds ± 1 mm , oblong to elliptic , smooth or finely granulate , light to dark brown . (Ref . Flora of Oman ; vol . 1) .
