Farsetia aegyptia Turra

This species is native to Mauritania, extending eastwards to Iraq and NW India. (Ref. POWO; 2023). There are 7 species of Farsetia found in Oman. (Ref. Oman Botanic Garden).

Shrublet or woody-based perennial herb ; up to 30-100 cm tall . Stems much-branched , grey-green , densely pubescent , medifixed hairs . Leaves 10–60×1–3 mm , linear to linear-elliptic , obtuse , base cuneate into the petiole , margins entire . Inflorescences in 5-10-flowered racemes ; pedicels erect , 3-9 mm . Flowers white to dull grey-violet ; sepals 10–12 mm , not saccate ; petals 17–20 mm , white to grey-violet , clawed , truncate or emarginate at apex ; stamens 6 , 9-13 mm ; stigmas decurrent . Fruit siliqua , 16–25× 6–8 mm , oblong-elliptic , compressed , dehiscent with a membranous septum ; valves firm . Seeds 1 . 5-3 mm across , with a broad transparent margin , light brown . (Ref .
