Farsetia stylosa R.Br.

This species is native to Mauritania, extending to Eritrea and N Kenya, S Iran, eastwards to NW India. (Ref. POWO; 2023). There are 7 species of Farsetia found in Oman. (Ref. Oman Botanic Garden).

Annual or perennial herb or subshrub ; up to 20-60(-90) cm tall , sometimes woody-based . Stems branched from the base , ascending , somewhat twiggy , densely pubescent with medifixed hairs . Leaves 10–60×0 . 5–5 mm , linear , obtuse , base cuneate into a short petiole , margin entire . Inflorescences in 10-15-flowered racemes , elongating to 40 cm in fruit ; pedicels ascending , in flower 1 . 2-2 . 5 mm elongating to 2 . 5-7 mm in fruit . Flowers white to pale yellow , or mauve ; sepals 3–4 mm , not saccate ; petals 4–7 mm , white to pale yellow , or mauve , narrowly oblong or subspathulate , with a rounded apex ; stamens 6 , 3-6 mm ; stigma capitate . Fruit siliqua , 7–30×3–5 mm , narrow oblong , dehiscent ; va ; ves thin ; septum translucent . Seeds 0 . 8-1 . 8 mm across , winged . (Ref . Flora of Oman ; vol . 1) .
