Moricandia sinaica (Boiss.) Boiss.

This species is native to E Egypt, extending to N Somalia, Arabia and Pakistan. (Ref. POWO; 2023). There is one species of Moricandia occurs in Oman. (Ref. Oman Botanic Garden).

Woody-based perennial herb ; up to 50(-75) cm tall , glacous . Stems erect or ascending , branched , glabrous . Stems erect to ascending . Leaves 2-5×2 . 5-4 cm , fleshy , ovate to oblong-ovate , obtuse ; lower leaves cuneate at the base ; upper leaves sessile , amplexicaul with large rounded auricles . Inflorescences in few to 30-flowered racemes , lax , up to 20 cm long in fruit ; pedicel 3-5 mm long , hardly increasing in length in fruit , slightly thickened , ascending . Flowers pink to violet , about 1 cm across ; sepals 6-8×2 mm ; petals obovate-oblong , long clawed , apex subtruncate , 12-15 mm . Fruit siliqua , 50-70×1 . 5-2 mm , linear , compressed-cylindrical , ascending , dehiscent ; valves 1-nerved . Seeds c . 1 mm long , numerous , biseriate , ellipsoid , brown . (Ref . Miller & Cope ; 1996) .
